
Mindanao, the 3rd island of the Philippine archipelago is known as "The Land of Promise". It has rich in natural resources with fertile soil abound in great highland. Bukidnon is a province in the island of Mindanao which situated in the central part of the island. Bukidnon is a plateau with various crops grown abundantly. One of the most viable crop in Bukidnon is the pineapple. This tropical fruit from Hawaii was being experimented in a small planting by the American firm which they themselves invested the pineapple industry in the country. Now, almost a century of growing the crops that had helped the country's growing economy and development of the island. The vast area of land planted to pineapple is now owned by the regular employees through the Agrarian Reform Program of the government. The multi-national company had leased the farmland from the employee's cooperative,The Del Monte Employees Beneficiaries Cooperative through leasehold agreement with the company.
