About a mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes found this St. Honorat Island in France.

Market Day

In some Asian countries especially in the Philippines, the local government has set a regular market day aside from the daily market activities.

The people are busy on their business trading in the market. Merchants display their items for sale like RTW, textiles, vegetables, food and snacks, dried fish, seafoods, poultry and meat products.

The busiest area in the market is the "ukay-ukay" section. People going to the area very early in the morning to buy imported used items; bags, pants, shirts, shoes and more items at the lowest prices. Everyone is happy to wear "ukay-ukay" with branded name.

Traders and customers alike that come from the countryside make business trading in the market. All day long the market operation maintained with business as usual.

Way to Impasug-ong, Bukidnon!

Bukidnon is the nicest place in Mindanao. It is not polluted. The air is fresh. The surroundings are clean and green. Most importantly, the people are warm and friendly.

Everytime I went home from school and work, I always pass this main road in Impasug-ong, Poblacion, Bukidnon. This road is leading to our home which is 100 miles away from the taken view. Furthermore, most people who want to have a jog or just merely having a brisk walk or having time with their loved ones, this road witnesses those activities.

Impasug-ong, Bukidnon is a very nice place to stay. In fact, most people who live in the city (Cagayan de Oro City) bought lands here where they could harmoniously and peacefully live with their family. The weather is not a problem because it suits to comfort your body's temperature. It is neither too hot nor too cold.

Experience Impasug-ong, Bukidnon and you will feel for yourself the pleasures of enjoying life in simplicity!

U.S. Air Force Del Monte Airfield

This site marks the location of the Del Monte Airfield which served as a base for the B17 Bombers of the 19th Bomb Group and the aircaft of the 24th Pursuit Squadron. This airfield become the strategic staging point of the remaining air assets of the United States Armed Forces Far East (USAFFE) until the surrender in May, 1942.

On December 14, 1941, six B17's from the Del Monte Airfield were dispatched to attack the Japanese Invasion Fleet in Legaspi, Albay. Only the Flying Fortress flown by Capt. Hewitt "Shorty" Wheless made it back after staging a dozen enemy fighters and crash landing in Cagayan de Oro City, earned him the distinguished service cross.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Commander of the USAFFE, after a daring escape by PT Boat from Corregidor, flew out from Del Monte on March 17, 1942 with his family and General Staff to Australia, when he declared the famous Phrase "I Shall Return" .

The President of the Philippine Commonwealth, Manuel L. Quizon, his family and party also took off from this airfield for the historic evacuation to the United States.

The Sleeping Giant Mountain

It is created by nature the formation of the mountain ranges above the Mangima Grand Canyon lies the grandeur of the Sleeping Giant as visibly seen in the farther distance, stretching along a longitude of estimated eighth kilometers measurement of the sleeping giant.

At right is located the wide plain of pineapple plantation of the world famous Del Monte Co. At left side is the lowland area where located the communities of Dalirig and Maluko of which the national highway passes through.

At the top of the mountain, You can see the panoramic view of Dalirig and the scenic beauty of Manolo Fortich town. Farther, you can also view as far as the eyes can see the sprawling city of Cagayn de Oro and the open sea.

Tourists are allured by the beauty of nature richly abound in the mountain ranges full of myths and fascinating scenery.

My sister and her husband had a trip at Six Flags Fiesta Texas at San Antonio, Texas last August 28, 2009. I am sure that they are enjoying with the various rides and the beautiful, scenic spots of the place.
