There aren't that many things that I like to do a whole lot of planning for during the summer because I'm a teacher and get enough planning in during the rest of the year. Well, I've been planning my menu for our family's 4th of July picnic that we have every summer. Except this year, we've invited about four times the amount of people that we normally do. So it just won't do this year to slap together some hamburgers and hot dogs. It will be much more involved than that.

Tonight I remembered to set my home security alarm (more info) as I walked out of my apartment before going to the Santana concert. I picked up my friend Bonnie Jo and we headed to the L.A. Stadium to see the famous performer Santana. I love his style of music and I was very excited when I heard that Bonnie Jo had bought me a ticket to go see him with her. The opening act was some group I have never heard of but they are also amazing. Santana has always been a concert I wanted to attend, and tonight I finally had the chance. Many people had floor seats, but we were stuck up in the nose bleeds. It did not matter to me because I was there and that was all the mattered to me. Many people were singing along to his songs and were having a wonderful time. I bought a concert tee shirt and had a beer in the beer garden as well. It was a great night and Bonnie Jo and I are very tired from all the excitement. I hope that next time Santana comes to town I will be able to take my mother along with me, seeing as she loves him even more than I do. The great prairie grasslands once covered North America like a whispering blanket a million square miles wide, home to bison, elk, and dozens of Native American tribes. The sea grass, which had seemed limitless and eternal to Indians and explorers alike, was almost completely gone.

Fortunately, beginning in 1933, the federal government began buying and restoring damaged prairie lands, and in 1960 Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson established a system of national grasslands. There are now almost 4 million acres of intermingled public and private lands in 20 states. The largest and most ecologically diverse – the million-acre Little Missouri National Grassland – is located in western North Dakota.

The Little Missouri Grassland surrounds the Theodore Roosevelt National Park encompassing rolling mixed-grass prairie, stark canyons and buttes, and stands of forest. Antelope, deer, cayotes, bighorn sheep, and buffalo make their home here, along with myriad birds and grazing cattle. Visitors come to hike, camp, and explore the Medora Ranger District, which includes the national park’s South Unit. More adventurous souls hike, ride horseback or mountainbike along the 96-mile MaahDaah Hey Trail, which connects the South Unit with the North and is the longest continuous single-track mountain bike ride in the country, and one of the best. In the Mandan Indian language maah daah hey means “a venerable place,” entirely appropriate to the Badlands and the prairie landscape. The route winds from Sully Creek State Park to the edge of the national park’s North Unit, at elevations of 2,000 to 2,700 feet.

Travel shows are so magnificent. They offer the viewers everything that is grand and wonderful about traveling with none of the drawbacks that can make the experience of travel such a hassle. There is nothing better than sitting back after a long day of work, sipping a refreshing beverage and enjoying a great travel television show.

My favorite travel television show of the moment is World Cafe Asia. This show is so incredible because of its interesting and compelling host Bobby Chinn. He has a great deal of experience with traveling the globe. Much of Chinn's life was spent doing just that. Before he became Hanoi's eccentric maverick chef, he studied and performed a variety of jobs in all sorts of different cities.

When I watch this show on Cable TV, I really enjoy all of the humorous remarks and wild antic of Mr. Chinn. There have been times when I have spit out my drink from laughing so hard. He is quite the character. It is fun to watch him sample different Asian cuisines and try his hand on cooking them. It is a given that there would be a show that covers Asian street food. This show has finally filled that niche.

World Cafe Asia is by far my favorite travel show. It helps that my favorite food is Chinese, but I would watch Bobbt Chinn cook cow tongue.

One of the pride of the country, Australia is this Wineglass Bay. It is situated on the rugged Freycinet Peninsula, part of the Freycinet National Park, on the east coast of Tasmania. The peninsula is made up of granite mountains that sweep down to sparkling vivid blue coves, the most beautiful of which is Wineglass Bay, so called because of its perfect shape. A stunning white sandy beach fringes the bay, set off by strange rocks which appear orange thanks to the lichen that has colonized them.

Half a mile off the highway from the tiny village of Camecauro, (8 ½ miles beyond the town of Zamora) is Lake Camecauro, a little known but rather idyllic spot where you can stop for a picnic lunch, take a restful boat ride, or walk around and stretch your legs after the 144-mile drive from Guadalajara.

On Highway 15 watch for a small wooden sigh pointing out the spur road leading south to the lake. The half-mile road is paved, but the road at the lake itself is pretty rough (you can park at the entrance to the lake park and walk through the grounds).

Lake Camecauro is quite narrow, and only about half a mile long. But giant cypress trees rise directly from water that is amazingly clear and blue. White ducks glide among the gnarled roots, and usually there are a few Mexican boys splashing in the shaded water. If you join them, you will find that they are a hardy bunch – the water is cold. It comes from springs that flow out of the ground a short distance back from the shore.

Caluso is only one of the 38 communes of the Canavese but the one to have given its name to the wines. Erbaluce di Caluso combines high acidity with a rich, floral centre which, when made with care, results in a refreshing, stimulating wine, best with food, even, for example, rich salami. Poorly made examples are thin and sharp. The acidity can give a beautiful lift to the sweet passito version and occasional examples can have extraordinary longevity. There are also some semi-sweet wines made in a lighter style from partially passito grapes and one or two experimental dry wines. Other wines (red as well as white made in the area are called simply Canavese, a new denomination, yet to make serious impact but accounting for about half the total production.

Alba, Italy

The town of Alba has a terrific appeal. This makes me know more about the place. The production of Piedmont's most famous wines gives the place a lure that elevates it almost to a wine lover's place of pilgrimage. Alba is certainly a major wine centre but it does not live just for wine.

Alba's main wealth comes from Miroglio, a hugely important textiles concern, which has a number of factories around the town, and from the local Ferrero chocolate company. Moreover, Alba is rather small, squashed into the narrow strip between the River Tanaro and the Langhe hills, with little space for other than a tiny old centre surrounded by a cluster of modern but smart residences.

Most of Alba's very small shops straddle one narrow street via Vittorio Emanuele II, which runs out of the central square, Piazza Savona. Several shops sell wine and more offer various types of often costly, edible goodies, not to mention truffles when in season, as well as related products, truffle oil, pate, cream, paste, etc. throughout the year. The street is even more crowded on Saturdays when market stalls fill its centre. At the other end of Vittorio Emanuele, some of Alba's famous towers draw eyes steadily upwards. Apart from these and the nobility of the Duomo San Lorenzo, Alba's magnetism quickly palls.

Disney has made it hard to argue for staying outside the park, even though it's way cheaper. Among other perks, Disney hotel guests enjoy extra hours in the parks and complimentary airport transfers via the Magical Express bus. As for where to stay inside Disney, ease is as much a factor as price. We like the Contemporary Resort (the only hotel within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom); Fort Wilderness Resort (the faux-rustic cabins fit six comfortably) and the All-Star Movies Resort (rooms are small but cheap). If Disney's value resorts are booked, the only other options n-site may run $300 a night of more. Outside the park, you'll find tons of hotels at a quarter of that rate - and there are always house rentals. While three-bedroom units go for about $1509 a night, the equivalent inside Disney would easily cost $700.

"Living on the edge" means embracing all the delights and dilemmas of Ontario, Canada. Canoeing, camping, fishing and hunting are my family's passion. We love the wilderness canoe tripping experience and we take it seriously.

In fact, we had our trip last January 17, 2010 at Ontario's best place. Though we experienced plenty of paddling and portaging, the rewards are priceless. It's safe, fun and memorable.

I have been an addict traveler. My route this year is to explore more of Europe. My first stop is at Turin, Italy.

Actually, there is mo shortage of things to see in Turin. The main draw is the museum of Egyptology in Villa Accademia delle Scienze - one of the greatest collections in the world. Within the Academia is also the museum of anti quitie and the Sabuada art gallery. They are located just beside the most exciting and stirring walk in Turin: north from the central station along Via Roma and through Piazza Carlo Felice, Piazza San Carlo (the best of all) and Piazza castello (with the stunning Madama Palace) coming out by the Royal Palace and into its pleasant gardens. The other major museum is along the Po, in a more southern area of fairly modern, showcase buildings, the museum of the motor car; this is, after all, the city of Fiat.

The emblem of the city is the Mole Antonelliana. More peaceful is the views over the Po from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, onto the piazza of Gran Madre di Dio, with, behind it, the Gran Madre church. Up the hills behind is the Cappucins Mount, while further along the river to the right is the Valentino park, with two remarkable fountains. In the park is the French Renaissance style Valentino castle and an oddity, a 19th-century reconstruction of the medieval quarter.

Throughout the city the influence of the House of Savoy, pride in Turin's importance during the Italian unification of the 1860s, and a notable monarchist attitude are evident.

Few Caribbean islands are celebrated for their food, but tiny St. Kitts is one of the exceptions. An outpost of stately sugar plantations and white sands, the isle has landed on the culinary map. Thanks to the newly opened Beach House, a restaurant in a colonial mansion on Turtle Beach.

The oceanfront, Carambola Beach Club restaurant opens of South Friar's Bay. The place gets its name from the Averrhoa carambola, or star fruit, which is put to punchy use from the starters to the desserts. Nab one of the 12 beach cabanas - they have waiter service and prime sunset views.

Schools of yellowtail snapper, balahoo and angelfish surround the reef near Cockleshell Beach, a two-mile-long stretch on the southern coast that's often empty during the week. At the entrance, the new Reggae Beach Bar and Grill serve conch fritters and jumbo coconut shrimp.

St. Kitts has blessedly few hotels. A standout is the Ocean Terrace Inn, where each of the 71 rooms has a private balcony overlooking the Caribbean, The one-bedroom suites come with kitchenettes, but there's no need to do your own cooking. The hotel has a West Indian restaurant, a poolside bar and grill, and a oceanfront spot that specializes in lobster and mahimahi cooled over an open flame.

A Grand Old Time at the Grand Canyon

"When you're staring out from the rim, the Canyon looks like a movie set," says my friend Cheska. "It doesn't even look real."

Cheska and her husband, Rick, were'nt quite sure how to tackle the Grand Canyon on their road trip from Tucson to Las Vegas - the avid hikers were expecting their first child three months later. "I won't be as mobile as I'd like," she said to us. "But its their first time, so they'll want to see as much as we can, Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters flew the couple over the gorge's widest and deepest part. Seeing it from above made them appreciate how vast, three-dimensional, and utterly spectacular it is.

That afternoon, Grand Canyon Old West Jeep Tours drove them along the more accessible South Rim, where they spotted a newly built bald eagle's nest. Their guide said it looked like a starter hone, where a mother would lay one of her first eggs. For Cheska, the nest held special resonance: "I wish we could find a home with a view like those eagles had."

What most people don't know is that incoming calls are free, the person dialing the cell phone number is charged for the call, but the person on the receiving end doesn't have to pay anything. Before a trip, I print out an itinerary with all the hotel, airlines an embassy information to give to close family and friends. I also print out a Google map for each hotel, with directions from the train station or airport. Having all this is helpful if you're traveling in a place where you don't know the language - or if you're traveling with lots of people arriving at different times.

One of Canada's pride in terms of its natural resources is this Moraine Lake which is a glacially-fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. The area around the lake has several walking/hiking trails which are, from time to time, restricted because of grizzly bear activity.

The people are busy on their business trading in the market. Merchants display their items for sale like RTW, textiles, vegetables, food and snacks, dried fish, seafoods, poultry and meat products.

The busiest area in the market is the "ukay-ukay" section. People going to the area very early in the morning to buy imported used items; bags, pants, shirts, shoes and more items at the lowest prices. Everyone is happy to wear "ukay-ukay" with branded name.

Bukidnon is the nicest place in Mindanao. It is not polluted. The air is fresh. The surroundings are clean and green. Most importantly, the people are warm and friendly.

Everytime I went home from school and work, I always pass this main road in Impasug-ong, Poblacion, Bukidnon. This road is leading to our home which is 100 miles away from the taken view. Furthermore, most people who want to have a jog or just merely having a brisk walk or having time with their loved ones, this road witnesses those activities.

Impasug-ong, Bukidnon is a very nice place to stay. In fact, most people who live in the city (Cagayan de Oro City) bought lands here where they could harmoniously and peacefully live with their family. The weather is not a problem because it suits to comfort your body's temperature. It is neither too hot nor too cold.

U.S. Air Force Del Monte Airfield

This site marks the location of the Del Monte Airfield which served as a base for the B17 Bombers of the 19th Bomb Group and the aircaft of the 24th Pursuit Squadron. This airfield become the strategic staging point of the remaining air assets of the United States Armed Forces Far East (USAFFE) until the surrender in May, 1942.

On December 14, 1941, six B17's from the Del Monte Airfield were dispatched to attack the Japanese Invasion Fleet in Legaspi, Albay. Only the Flying Fortress flown by Capt. Hewitt "Shorty" Wheless made it back after staging a dozen enemy fighters and crash landing in Cagayan de Oro City, earned him the distinguished service cross.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Commander of the USAFFE, after a daring escape by PT Boat from Corregidor, flew out from Del Monte on March 17, 1942 with his family and General Staff to Australia, when he declared the famous Phrase "I Shall Return" .

The President of the Philippine Commonwealth, Manuel L. Quizon, his family and party also took off from this airfield for the historic evacuation to the United States.

The pools are good for swimming because the water is clean and clear. In this picture, we were at the kids' pool because we assist and look over our younger cousins.

Mangima Resort gives lots of fun to children as well as to the adults. Most of their swimming poosl are designed for children, teenager and adult. In such a way, they created pools for those categorize.

We can drive 1 h to the north to the beautiful and traditional town of Nazaré . Over here you can enjoy the beautiful village of Nazaré with its characteristic culture and surf the epic “ Praia do Norte”.

Nazare has become a popular tourist attraction, advertising itself as a picturesque seaside village. Located on the of the Atlantic coast, it has long sandy beaches, crowded with tourists in the summer. The town used to be known for its traditional costumes worn by the fishermen. Their wifes worn the traditional headscarf and embroidered aprons over seven flannel skirts in different colours. These dresses can still occasionally be seen.

South Korea's Yongpyeong.

Yongpyeong is Korea’s oldest ski resort and one of the country’s best to boot. Located approximately 135 miles from Seoul in the fresh mountain air of Gangwon-do Province, it has a high peak elevation of 4,720 feet and a longer snow season than most ski resorts in the country, while both the facilities and runs are impressive by Korean standards.

The surrounding scenery is breathtaking, with the East Sea and Mount Odaesan both visible from the slopes on clear days. Yongpyeong ski resort has played host to several international events over the years, including the Ski World Cup and the Winter Asian Games.
